3 new picnic benches have been installed in the village, 2 by the toddler area in Wouldham recreation ground and a futher one on Wouldham Common.  The picnic benches and installation costs were funding by TMBC's Community Enhancement Grant.

New toilet floor in Wouldham Village Hall – essential emergency repairs were required to the village hall toilet floor in October 2014.  This work was part funded by the Village Hall Committee and a grant for £1980 from KCC's Local Members Grant 2014-15, supported by County Cllr Peter Homewood.

New Central heating and new main hall flooring covering – New flooring and central heating have been installed in the village hall over the summer holidays.  This work was paid for several grant applications: KCC's Local Members Grant 2013-14 – £3000 for the installation of the central heating to the main hall (grant application supported by County Cllr Peter Homewood) and £3412 grant from the Big Lottery Fund 'Awards for All'  for the new flooring and the gas connection charge to the village hall.

Chairman's Report – May 2014

The Parish Council has been successful in obtaining 2 grants this year for the refurbishment work in the village hall.  County County Peter Homewood supported an application for KCC's Local Members grant funding earlier this year for £3000.  This money has been used to install central heating in the village hall.  The Parish Council were also successful in its bid to the Big Lottery Fund 'Awards for All' for a grant for £3412 which has paid for the new hall flooring and the gas supply connection to the hall.

What has happened so far in 2012

Revised planning permission has been granted for the access road through the recreation ground car park in Knowle Road.  A grant has been applied for the engineering drawing plans through County Councillor Peter Homewood's Members Highway Fund.

We have been sucessful in obtaining a KCC Small Community Capital Projects Grant for £2000 for 2 further pieces of outdoor fitness equipment.  Currently on order are an arm and pedal bike and a twist and step.  These new pieces of equipment will be installed on the recreation ground in April 2012.  Thank you to County Councillor Homewood for supporting this application

A grant for £2000 has been received from TMBC's Community Enhancement Grant for the architect fees for the proposed new village hall.  This application was supported by Borough Councillor Roger Dalton.  This will allow us to obtain a detail quotation, vital for the fundraising stage of this project. 

Westcut Mowing and Just the Job are the appointed ground maintenance contractors for Wouldham for 2012.  They will commence work in the village from mid March.


What happened in 2011

We were successful in obtaining a grant from TMBC's Community Enhancement Fund for a new self closing gate for the village hall.  The gate is currently being made and will be installed shortly.

New Village Hall – The Parish Council obtained full planning consent for a new village hall to be built on the recreation ground.  A Steering Group has been set up to actively drive forward this project – see new village hall page for further information. 

Widening of Cornwall Crescent Junction – Thank you to County Councillor Peter Homewood for successfully obtaining Kent Highways Funding for the widening of Cornwall Crescent junction.
